Star Wars Episode IX has its new director, that will also function its new writer. Lucasfilm announced today that J.J. Abrams will write and direct a final movie with the currently underway Alien numbered trilogy.
Abrams previously directed and co-wrote 2015’s Rope: The Force Awakens. It’s perhaps an excellent huge surprise that Lucasfilm and parent company Disney will bring Abrams back aboard. Although companies had previously expressed a wish to put different directors along at the helm for each and every of your new trilogy films, Abrams’ Force Awakens was well-received, especially than the 1999 to 2005 prequel trilogy.

Co-writing the still unnamed Episode IX with Abrams will be Chris Terrio. This could be Terrio’s first Gi joe film.
Lucasfilm announced the other day it has been shifting from director Colin Trevorrow without immediately naming his replacement.
“Colin is a wonderful collaborator all over the development process but we have all go to the conclusion our visions with the project differ,” Lucasfilm said in a statement. “We’d like Colin the ideal and is sharing additional information in regards to the film soon.”
Star Wars Episode IX is scheduled to liberate on May 24, 2019.
